Over recent months, six wonderful ladies from our congregation Maureen, Mollie, Agnes, Janet, Freda and Jacqueline have been busy knitting and crocheting beautiful items for Sure Start, an organisation that supports local families with young children. What began as a simple act of kindness has grown into a lovely display of care, creativity and generosity.
Each lady has poured time and skill into crafting tiny cardigans, blankets, hats and baby clothes, all made with thoughtfulness and prayer. Every stitch represents kindness and the desire to bring comfort to families who may be facing difficult moments.
This week they gathered to share the final collection of their work before it is delivered. There was joy in the room as they displayed the vibrant blankets, delicate knitwear and colourful creations that will soon bless children in our community. Their generosity and cheerful spirit remind us of the quiet but powerful ways God works through willing hands.
We give heartfelt thanks to Maureen, Mollie, Agnes, Janet, Freda and Jacqueline for offering their gifts in such a meaningful way. These items will travel far beyond the walls of our church, carrying warmth and love to homes across East Belfast. It is a wonderful example of how simple acts of service can shine the light of Christ in everyday life.
